We are pleased to say that the event is organised by the rightful international body. Unfortunately, the ride was interrupted by one of the former volunteers who helped conduct rides in the past. He applied for an injunction preventing us from using the name and logo of the ride, as he and another person had previously applied for this logo in Sri Lanka. Their application was opposed by the charity in January 2026 on the basis that the charity's trustees have a duty to protect its intangible assets. Nevertheless, that individual applied for an ex parte interim injunction on 10th March, and the order was served only on the 11th in mid-afternoon — whereas the first day of the ride had already concluded. The organising committee and the entire group of riders met on the first evening of the ride to discuss this order, and it was unanimously agreed to comply. The ride continued with the contested logo covered and was renamed as the "10th Anniversary Ride". A new banner was printed, and the ride concluded successfully under the new name.

What to Expect: Ride for Ceylon 2026 Essentials

Ride for Ceylon 2026 is more than a cycling event—it’s a meaningful journey of endurance, camaraderie, and impact. Over the course of three days (4–6 July 2026), participants will cycle 450 kilometers from Colombo to Jaffna, traversing Sri Lanka’s diverse landscapes while raising funds to restore Manipay Green Memorial Hospital.

You can expect:

  • Challenging and scenic routes passing coastal stretches, rural communities, and historic towns.
  • Full support including escort vehicles, water stops, first aid, and technical assistance.
  • Accommodation and meals arranged for each overnight stop in Puttalam and Mannar.
  • A diverse group of riders, from experienced cyclists to passionate first-timers, all united by purpose.
  • A signature jersey, media coverage, and the opportunity to be part of something truly transformative.

This isn’t just a physical challenge—it’s a chance to connect with fellow change makers and contribute to healthcare renewal in Northern Sri Lanka.

Whether you’re riding, fundraising, or cheering from afar, Ride for Ceylon promises a powerful experience rooted in history, hope, and heart.
