We are pleased to say that the event is organised by the rightful international body. Unfortunately, the ride was interrupted by one of the former volunteers who helped conduct rides in the past. He applied for an injunction preventing us from using the name and logo of the ride, as he and another person had previously applied for this logo in Sri Lanka. Their application was opposed by the charity in January 2026 on the basis that the charity's trustees have a duty to protect its intangible assets. Nevertheless, that individual applied for an ex parte interim injunction on 10th March, and the order was served only on the 11th in mid-afternoon — whereas the first day of the ride had already concluded. The organising committee and the entire group of riders met on the first evening of the ride to discuss this order, and it was unanimously agreed to comply. The ride continued with the contested logo covered and was renamed as the "10th Anniversary Ride". A new banner was printed, and the ride concluded successfully under the new name.

Toronto Charity Bike Ride 2026: 35 Riders, One Purpose

A Celebration of Cycling, Community, Charity and Togetherness

Toronto, Canada – 20 September 2026:
The spirit of Ride for Ceylon came alive in Toronto as 35 enthusiastic riders came together for the Toronto Charity Bike Ride 2026 at Rouge Hill GO Station North Parking.

More than just a cycling event, the ride was a celebration of community, friendship, teamwork and purpose. Riders of different ages, experiences and abilities came together with one shared goal to ride together, support a meaningful cause and be part of the growing Ride for Ceylon community.

Starting from Rouge Hill GO Station North Parking, participants were able to choose a distance that suited their individual ability and experience. The event welcomed riders across four distance options: 5 km, 10 km, 20 km,50 km. For Ride for Ceylon, the success of the event was not measured only by kilometres completed. It was also measured by the friendships strengthened, the connections created and the collective spirit shown by everyone who participated.

Riding Together for a Greater Purpose

The Toronto Charity Bike Ride 2026 added another meaningful chapter to the international journey of Ride for Ceylon.

From its cycling initiatives across Sri Lanka to community rides overseas, Ride for Ceylon continues to use cycling as a way of bringing people together and creating opportunities for positive community engagement.

With 35 riders successfully completing the event, the day became a celebration of participation rather than competition. Every distance completed and every encouraging word shared contributed to the positive atmosphere that made the ride memorable.

It was a reminder that when people come together with a common purpose, even a simple bike ride can become a meaningful community experience.

The message was simple: Ride with Purpose. Ride for Ceylon.

This journey continues.
