I’m an Orthopaedic surgeon by profession and an avid cyclist by passion.

My name is Perry Subramanian and I was raised in Paranthan. I studied at Jaffna Central College where I also stayed in the hostel. I was the captain of the college soccer team in 1977 and played other sports. I have been living in Canada for 40+ years with my wife, 2 daughters, and granddaughter. I work as an event coordinator in the Toronto area as well as for a few destination weddings. I enjoy going to the gym a few times a week while also enjoying my retirement. Every summer I enjoy cycling around for fun. This is my first time where I am biking almost 500km as part of Ride 4 Ceylon. I am excited to meet the participants from other countries as we all go on this journey together in our homeland.

I wish to participate as a rider/support driver. Joining for the first time in 2025—even partially—was a life-changing experience. Inspired by the unforgettable warmth and kindness of the hardworking and resilient people of Jaffna, I am looking forward to join the 10th Annual Ride. While contributing to the rebuilding of a historic local hospital, this event also motivates me to maintain my own physical health and helps foster harmony between the North and South of our motherland.

Born in Paris, I grew up loving sports and music. From archery to climbing, rollerblading to ice hockey, and then behind the decks as a DJ, I have always followed my passions. As I grew older, I turned DJing into my career in Paris. But over time, I felt the need to push myself in a different way and experience a deeper adventure. In 2025, I took on a challenge: cycling from Paris to Jaffna, the city my parents cherish and that has become mine as well. Over three months and more than 10,000 kilometers, I discovered the value of effort, the beauty of simplicity, and the richness of human connections. This journey also had a charitable side: I was fortunate to give bicycles to children in Sri Lanka and was deeply moved by the support of thousands of people throughout the adventure. Today, being an ambassador for Ride for Ceylon’s 10th edition is both an honor and a pleasure. I look forward to sharing this human adventure with all the cyclists of the 2026 edition.

Supporting Manipay Green Memorial Hospital — bringing healing, care, and hope beyond

I’m a French national and have been living in Sri Lanka for the past 12 years, between Colombo and Kalpitiya. I’ve found my place here! I’m not an experienced rider yet, but I’m training hard and really excited about this experience.

I have been part of Ride for Ceylon since its very beginning in 2017. Though I am not on the bike, my role in logistics and management has been just as important to me. Supporting this journey fills me with enthusiasm and gratitude because it allows me to support and keep safe those who have come forward to fundraiser and ride. Each year, I have seen how our collective effort helps renovate and rebuild communities in Sri Lanka, and I am proud to lend my hands to that mission. What inspires me most is knowing that every single fund raised goes directly to the Green Memorial Hospital in Manipay, where lives are rehabilitated and hope is restored. This year, 2026, feels especially meaningful for me with a great success born of massive effort and shared dreams. I am glad to continue this journey, standing alongside riders and supporters, united in service to our people.

Having taken part in last year’s Ride for Ceylon 2025 in Melbourne, Australia, I’m overjoyed to ride again for the 10th Ride for Ceylon 2026. I a. 63 years old rider who is joining this ride with my daughter Chantelle. We are delighted to join this years ride from Colombo to Manipay and raise funds for the Green memorial hospital in Manipay.

As someone who has spent over 20 years working in the charity and accountancy sectors, I have seen firsthand how impactful dedicated support can be in changing lives. My personal commitment to this work is deeply rooted in my upbringing in Tamil Nadu and was further inspired by a moving visit to Manipay Hospital in 2017. This year, I am participating in the 10th Ride of Ride for ceylon to raise funds for a new ambulance. I am dedicating this journey to the memory of my late mother, Fareetha Beevi, and aim to provide essential medical transport to those in need. This year, I’m taking on my first-ever bike charity ride after hearing about a Arnold’s charity, which supports and looks after Manipay hospital. Learning about the work they do and the real difference it makes to patients, families, and staff, really inspired me to get involved. I’m not a seasoned cyclist, but that’s exactly why this challenge feels meaningful. It’s a chance to push myself out of my comfort zone while raising funds and awareness for a cause that truly matters. By taking part, I hope to contribute in a small but positive way and show my support for the charity’s vital work.

I have been riding since the first year in 2017. As a trustee of the UK Registered Charity : Friends of Manipay Hospital (FOMH) that conducts this ride annually, I am so proud and pleased to participate with so many riders and encouragement of well wishers from all over the world I have seen the hospital in such devastated and dilapidated state in 2004 when I first visited after 21 years of exile from Sri lanka It is so heartwarming to see the development over these two decades since fOMH started its help however as a medical institution of great value to the nation there is so much more that we need to do Thank you for all your support

This year I’m joining the Ride for Ceylon for the first time, and while it’s definitely a new experience and a personal challenge, it’s one I’m genuinely excited about. Taking part in something like this pushes me out of my comfort zone, but knowing it’s for a meaningful cause makes it even more worthwhile.
